Denver Academy Hosts Grand Opening Celebration for High School Campos SmartLab®

Denver, Colo. (Nov. 2, 2023) –  Denver Academy (DA) hosted a grand opening celebration for its new High School Campos SmartLab on Thursday, Nov. 2.

Those invited to this special event included DA’s Board of Trustees, project partners, Founder and CEO Marco Campos, and other representatives from Campos Companies and Foundation, as well as DA SmartLab teachers, faculty, and staff, and DA High School parents. Room preparation and installation for the High School Campos SmartLab began in June of 2023 and was completed in August of 2023. Students started taking classes in the SmartLab at the beginning of the 2023-24 school year. 

The Denver Academy High School Campos SmartLab is the third lab of its kind on the DA campus. Denver Academy students from youngest to oldest (grades 2-12) now have a hands-on STEM learning experience through Campos SmartLabs.    

The High School Campos SmartLab includes the latest technology and equipment to support student learning. From 3D printers and robotics kits to drones and podcasting, the lab allows DA students to gain access to a wide range of tools to enhance their learning experience. All three Campos SmartLabs on the DA campus were created in partnership with Creative Learning Systems and provide access to STEM projects that progress from foundational concepts to advanced applications.

DA’s SmartLabs are named in honor of the generous donation of more than $500,000 for these labs provided by the Campos Foundation. Founder and CEO of Campos Companies Marco Campos is also a Denver Academy parent.
