Athletics Overview & Teams

Spring Sports 2023-24

Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just getting started, Denver Academy's no-cut athletic sports teams are a great opportunity to learn new skills or take your game to the next level and compete against other teams.

We are excited to offer DA students in grades 6-12 the opportunity to compete in Denver Academy (DA) athletic teams this year.

Middle School (Grades 7-8) Sports are offered as elective courses each quarter with games after school. Visit the Middle School Academics page for details.

Sixth-grade students have the opportunity to play sports matching the athletic seasons of our middle school students. Our sixth graders have the option to join these sports during their PE class and also for after-school games two to three times a week. Students sign up during PE and will be charged an athletics fee. Visit the Sixth Grade Academics page for details.

DA High School Spring Sports Policies:
  • All athletes must have a current physical on file with the DA Athletic Office clearing them to play sports. Download the physical form and permission slip here
  • All athletes and parents must sign an Athletics Code of Conduct at your sport-specific meeting. The coaches will communicate this information with team parents.
  • We will allow and encourage students to play more than one sport, as long as they are committed for the entire season. The coaches will work with you to customize practice schedules.

Denver Academy Athletics

The Denver Academy Athletics Department offers a comprehensive, competitive athletic program for both middle school and high school student-athletes. The athletic program features sports and recreational activities ranging from outdoor adventure and fitness for middle school students to a competitive sports program for student-athletes that wish to compete against other schools with a similar-size enrollment. DA is a member of the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) and the Mile High League.

The majority of our coaches are full- or part-time teachers during the school day at Denver Academy which promotes the bonds between student-athletes and their coaches.
