Athletics Overview & Teams

Winter Sports 2022-23

We are excited to offer students the opportunity to compete in Denver Academy (DA) athletic teams again this winter.

Middle School (Grades 7-8) Sports are offered as elective courses each quarter with games after school. Visit the Middle School Academics page for details.
DA High School Winter Sports policies include:
  • All athletes must have a current physical on file with the DA Athletic Office clearing them to play sports. Download the physical form and permission slip here
  • All athletes and parents must sign an Athletics Code of Conduct at your sport-specific meeting. The coaches will communicate this information with team parents.
  • We will allow and encourage students to play more than one sport, as long as they are committed for the entire season. The coaches will work with you to customize practice schedules.
  • COVID-19 Policies: Denver Academy (DA) follows the guidelines of the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment (DDPHE). Currently, masks are recommended but not required at DA for students, staff, and visitors. DA will comply with any future public health orders that may require the reinstatement of mask mandates. We will adjust our policies as needed in order to keep our athletes and the entire DA community safe and healthy.

Denver Academy Athletics

The Denver Academy Athletics Department offers a comprehensive, competitive athletic program for both middle school and high school student-athletes. The athletic program features sports and recreational activities ranging from outdoor adventure and fitness for middle school students to a competitive sports program for student-athletes that wish to compete against other schools with a similar-size enrollment. DA is a member of the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) and the Mile High League.

The majority of our coaches are full- or part-time teachers during the school day at Denver Academy which promotes the bonds between student-athletes and their coaches.
