  • Development Associate: 22-23

    Job Title:                Development Associate
    Location:                 Denver Academy in Denver, Colorado
    Type:                         Full-time Staff, year round

    Salary:                     Starting salary is $48,000. Salary will be higher based on experience and/or additional qualifications. Generous benefits.
     
    The mission of Denver Academy is to inspire and empower diverse learners through student-centered, differentiated, and transformative education. Founded in 1972 on the belief that students thrive when taught in the way they learn best, Denver Academy is one of the top schools in the nation dedicated to teaching diverse learners, including those with dyslexia and ADD/ADHD. DA serves over 400 students in grades 1 – 12.
     
    Accountability: Reports to the Director of Development (DOD)
     
    We are seeking (2) Development Associates to complete our fundraising team which includes the Director of Development and a Database Manager. We work closely with the PR/Marketing Team.
     
    The Development Team will:
    • Execute the Annual Fund, raising over $300,000 each year
    • Participate in Colorado Gives Day
    • Execute a fundraising event, the Gala, raising over $300,000 each year
    • Complete the capital campaign for our Performing Arts Center: $500,000
    • Continue developing relationships with Foundation staff and facilitating the submission of grant proposals and grant reports utilizing a consulting company
    • Strengthen our Major Gifts program in all areas of funding, including managing a prospect list
    • Utilize email blasts, snail mail, social media postings, meetings, and phone calls to meet fundraising goals
    • Increase planned giving membership
    • Increase active membership and donations from our alumni
    • Acknowledge gifts
    • Steward donors through communication, individual attention, and events
    • Strengthen volunteer relationships
    • Produce publications: Gratitude Report (annual report), stewardship/impact reports, Gala materials
    Other
    • Attend quarterly Development Committee meeting
    • Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
    • Ability to manage time, set priorities, balance demands of multiple tasks and meet deadlines
    • Other tasks as identified by the Director of Development
    Experience
    • Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge NXT or another CRM program, and Microsoft Office
    • Experience as a nonprofit fundraiser, event planner, or an education related career preferred
