Students at Denver Academy are bright individuals with varied learning profiles who choose us because our approach to education is as distinctive as each child. DA’s mission is to inspire and empower diverse learners through student-centered, differentiated, and transformative education.
The DA community recently came together for an inspiring adult-only evening at the 2026 DA Symposium: Flip the Script on Anxiety. Held in mid-March, the event featured Dr. Tracy Dennis-Tiwary, author of Future Tense: Why Anxiety Is Good For You (Even Though It Feels Bad). She explored the surprising benefits of anxiety and how to harness it for growth. Dr. Dennis-Tiwary also spoke to DA Middle School and DA High School students during the school day.
DA Parents and educators who attended gained fresh insights into guiding youth through today’s challenges with resilience and purpose, including:
Discovering the science behind anxiety as a strength
Learning strategies to support anxious children and teens

Congrats to the DA Drumline on another amazing performance at the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade for the 8th year. Way to go, Mustangs! And, many thanks to Denver Mayor Mike Johnston for honoring DA as the Mayor’s Drumline!
Did you know? Denver Academy has three Campos SmartLabs dedicated to elementary, sixth-grade, middle school, and high school students. These three labs ignite passions and create a learning pathway through progressively advanced skills and concepts, paving the way for a future in STEM.
In the words of Lower School Campos SmartLab Teacher Thomas Laird, “With the lower school SmartLab programming, we have made strides within our robotics team. Yes, you read that correctly, DA has a robotics team! We have been learning coding, engineering, mathematics, and problem-solving through SmartLab programming and have successfully competed in the LEGO First Robotics Challenge for our third season. Through our middle school robotics team, we have seen these students become leaders when they get into the high school level SmartLab classes and the high school robotics team, the Hurricane Nuts.”
Join us on Saturday, April 18 at Upper Larimer for a throwback prom! We'll dress up, celebrate, and dance together, all while making a meaningful impact. Register online here by April 1!
This summer, Denver Academy will host the 2026 Guiding Bright Minds Neurodiversity Resource Fair—Colorado’s first and largest event of its kind. There will be support for all ages—from infancy through adulthood. The event will be held on Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Denver Academy campus. Click here to learn more. DA is proud to be featured as a Star School Partner in the new interactive comic book Solar Stars vs Dark Matter – The Battle Over Climate Change, Issue #1. Created by local educator and author Adam Hall, the project was inspired by DA students’ long-standing commitment to sustainability and innovation. From the Green JEDI student group’s work in helping secure a 1kW pilot solar array in 2007, to students racing solar cars in the 2019 Solar Star Challenge, DA’s leadership in renewable energy education has a long history and continues to inspire. Hall is the chief star organizer and executive director of Million Solar Stars, an organization whose mission is to engage one million students in the process of scaling up solar power at 100% schools globally.
Solar Stars vs Dark Matter will be available soon in the DA library. Copies may be purchased here for $9.99 (+tax and shipping). Proceeds will fund the second issue, and students are invited to submit superhero, villain, and story ideas through the Solar Star Comic Challenge. Special thanks to DA students, DA High School teacher Mr. Brookhart, and the greater DA community for your ongoing support.
On Friday, Nov. 14, DA hosted a special ceremony for senior Schuyler Parker in celebration of her commitment to play division one water polo for Iona University starting in the 2026-27 school year. The ceremony took place in DA’s James E. Loan Athletic Center. Click here to watch.
Schuyler started attending DA in third grade and is a well-rounded leader at the school. She will graduate from DA in the spring of 2026.
“I’m so thankful for my parents, who spent countless weekends at the pool cheering me on; my coaches, who helped me become the player I am today; my teammates, who have become great friends; and my teachers, who have challenged me academically and prepared me for this next step. I can’t wait to be part of the Gael family!” said Schuyler.
DA values our children’s differences and strengths - their superpowers - as much as we do.
