This free, interactive workshop, designed just for the DA families in grades 6-12, will cover:
What technology tools are available to you and your student
How to access those tools
When to use the tools (which programs help with which tasks)
What questions to ask about the tools and who to ask
The workshop will be available in two sessions, morning for 6-8 grade families from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., and afternoon for high school families from 12:15 to 3:15 p.m. Lunch will be included for both sessions at 11:30 a.m. and will feature guest speaker Joel Englander '03 of Google.
Parents and students will participate in the workshop together, working through various sessions individually, then reconvening to discuss and debrief. If you have students in multiple divisions, you may sign up for one or both sessions. Devices will be provided. Hosted by the DA Student and Parent Technology Committees. DA Middle and High School students will meet with their unit leaders for experiential trips. At the meeting, they will find out more information about the itinerary and plans for their EE unit. This meeting is for students only. Parents of students going on overnight experiential trips will attend individual trip meetings at a later date.
Program Visitation Days provide an overview of the curriculum and framework of Denver Academy. The two-hour visit includes classroom visits and a campus tour, along with an informational session led by the Denver Academy Program Team. This tour is designed for professionals, community members, and educational partners. Perspective parents/families interested in learning more about Denver Academy are encouraged to contact the Admissions Office and attend an Open House.

The Strategic Alternative Learning Techniques (SALT) Center is the leading comprehensive academic support program for college students who learn differently. Assistant Director of Admissions & Recruitment David Cillo will be visiting Denver Academy to share information about the center and its services. Additionally, Regional Admissions Counselor Justin Duval will be sharing information about the application process and the majors available at U of A.
