Last week, Denver Academy sent two of its golfers to the 2021 state championship. 

DA senior Will Rinehart and DA junior Will Stewart represented the school, and DA junior Blake Petersen was the first alternate. Rinehart finished 16th, making it the best finish in DA history!

The entire team put in long hours of training, practicing five days a week for several months. Their hard work paid off. The DA Golf Team finished third in regionals — the school’s highest finish ever. The team also ranked 16th out of 63 teams in the 3A division and ranked 88th out of 178 for all golf teams in Colorado.

“I am so proud of the DA Golf Team and hope to continue our success in the future,” said DA Head Golf Coach Jack Mestas. “Our team motto is: Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”
