AI & Your Child: What Every DA Family Should Know

AI is already changing how students learn, create, communicate, and prepare for college, work, and life. For families, the essential questions are not simply whether students use AI, but when it helps them learn, when it gets in the way, and how schools protect critical thinking, independence, academic integrity, and authentic student voice.

On Tuesday, Oct. 27, DAPA invites parents, guardians, and members of the DA community to join Head of School Mark Twarogowski and DA parent Tal Goldhamer, an AI educator who works with leaders across business, government, higher education, and the nonprofit sector, for a candid and practical conversation about what AI means for Denver Academy students.
The event will be held in DA’s Louise McCabe Performing Arts Center. Breakfast will be from 8 to 8:30 a.m.; presentation and Q&A from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

Registration is now open! Click here to register for this free event. Questions? Contact dapaconnection@denveracademy.org.

Drawing on a recent survey of DA teachers, real classroom examples, and the work already underway across the school, Mark and Tal explore how AI can amplify one of DA’s greatest strengths: deeply understanding each student and differentiating instruction to meet individual needs. They also address how appropriate use changes from lower school through high school, where guardrails are essential, and how DA can prepare students for a world in which AI literacy increasingly matters.

Parents gain an inside look at what DA teachers are already doing and learning, the opportunities and concerns they see, the principles shaping the school’s evolving approach, and the role families can play in what comes next. The session also includes time for candid questions and community discussion.

This is not a generic AI overview or a technical workshop. It is a conversation about the education DA provides, and how our community can prepare students for the world ahead without losing what makes learning deeply human. Please make time to join this important DA community conversation.
