When Michael Blickley was a student at Denver Academy, he learned there wasn't always just one right way to complete a project. If an assignment could become a short film instead of a paper, that was the route he'd take. Along the way, he developed skills in scene direction, shot composition, and screenwriting that would eventually form the foundation of his career. Today, Michael is the founder of CoyWolf Peak, an independent creative company approaching its tenth anniversary, where he continues bringing original stories to life through graphic novels and other creative projects.

Ask Michael about Denver Academy, though, and he won't start with comics. He'll probably tell you about former DA history teacher Fred Miller's running joke that Denver Academy was founded in Ancient Greece as "The Academy," an inside joke that's still shared among classmates years later. For Michael, that's part of what made DA special: it was a place where curiosity, humor, and creativity all had room to grow. As CoyWolf Peak celebrates ten years of storytelling, he's excited to reconnect with fellow alumni, meet current students, and continue giving back to the community that helped launch his own creative journey. Michael's passion for storytelling didn't end when he graduated from Denver Academy.
