Timothy Keister, '03, Catering Business Owner and Chef

Timothy Keister '03 is a chef who started his own catering business, Scorching Brick Catering, in 2015. Timothy says that the amazing teachers at Denver Academy (DA) made all of the difference in his life.

"I was a student set for failure before DA," said Timothy. "I was expelled from public school and thought education was a joke. Denver Academy changed my entire thinking about school. They accepted me at DA and I now believe that education is one of the most important things in life."

After attending Metro State University of Denver to study mechanical engineering and Lincoln Tech for diesel mechanics, Timothy decided to make the shift to something he always loved, cooking. He went to culinary school and studied the Escoffier style of French cooking.

For his catering company, Scorching Brick, he specializes in "fusion." He likes to mix international cuisines and flavors.

"Food is so versatile; you can do anything you want!" said Keister.

A caterer who relies on events for his business, Timothy has had to again be resilient and change his business model due to COVID-19. He is now offering pre-made meals to go and for delivery to provide a personal chef experience at home. Find out more about Timothy and his business at www.scorchingbrickcatering.com.

"I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for Denver Academy," said Timothy Keister.

We're so proud of Timothy and wish him continued success with his career. Go, Mustang!
