Knowledge Bowl Team Takes 6th Place at State Tournament

Denver Academy's Knowledge Bowl team competed in the State Tournament this week from March 18-19 where they placed 6th in the 2A division! The team, only in its second year, qualified for State after their performance at the Regional Tournament on Feburary 9.

"We held our own against some intense competition and the students really did a great job at representing DA," said senior math teacher and co-sponsor Jill Mitchell.

Knowledge Bowl is a contest and celebration of knowledge, something our students have in spades. The team showed an impressive display of intellect and is comprised of students Jamie Anderson, Adam El Gammal, Patrick Gilman, Demetrius Latsis, Jake Nicholas, Yared Sanbet, Charlie Schuham, and Cassidy Wilson, along with faculty co-sponsors Ryan Berg and Jill Mitchell.

"Our team really made a statement about how kids with learning disabilities can compete with the best of the best from any school," said one of the student founders of DA's Knowledge Bowl team, Cassidy Wilson '19

Congratulations, Mustangs! We are so proud of you.
