Parent Perspective: Why We Support DA

Denver Academy will celebrate our 50th Anniversary in 2022. As we plan for the next 50 years for our school, we give tremendous gratitude to our supporters. Today we give special thank you to the Bissette family for their major gift and support in shaping our future. We asked Erica and Louis Bissette why they support DA. Here is their response:
 
Our son Hayes, an 8th grader, has attended DA for four years and each of his teachers have been extremely empathetic and have taken the time and energy to fully understand him and support his success - both educationally and social-emotionally. DA teachers embrace empathy and teach this key trait to kids on a daily basis through their actions. To us, this is the most important thing the school is doing for our son’s future leadership, success, and happiness. The school has made a profoundly positive impact on Hayes, and we hold a very special place in our hearts for the entire team that has worked with him. On a daily basis, we are truly inspired by the teachers at DA!
 
On a wider scale, we feel that DA truly provides an individualized, student-centered education for all types of learners and has a unique education model within the city of Denver. The school has made an incredible difference in the lives of generations of children and families within our community. As such, Denver Academy is an important and unique asset to our vibrant city. For these reasons, we could not be more proud to support DA philanthropically.
 
We would love to get a chance to share our enthusiasm about investing in DA’s future with any one that is interested in learning more about it.
