Film Screening at DA with Director Davis Guggenheim
Join the DA community on Thursday, April 23 at 6 p.m. for a screening of the documentary Deaf President Now!The evening is designed to deepen DA’s understanding of navigating the world with learning differences and features a live Q&A with Academy Award-winning director Davis Guggenheim.
This is a free event for the DA community, but tickets will be required with the option to donate to Deaf Reach, which supports deaf students in Pakistan. Please reserve tickets here.
Deaf President Now! follows the 1988 student protest at Gallaudet University, a school for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, when a hearing candidate was elected over other deaf candidates.
The film recently had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January and was released last May by Apple Original Films.
The film is rated TV-MA, and Common Sense Media says 13+. This event is hosted by DA's Student Senate.
