Mr. Twarogowski has held almost every faculty position in his 25+ years at Denver Academy. He has taught all age levels, coached many sports and mentored dozens of teachers. Prior to his headship, Mark most recently served as Denver Academy's Director of Education, overseeing curriculum policies and all professional development for faculty. Mr. Twarogowski works closely with his assistant, Rebecca Musil.
Mr. Twarogowski earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Denver and holds a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Denver, where he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education Leadership.
Ms. Lozow joined the Denver Academy community in 2001 as a parent (Jake Lozow '10) and has been part of the Development Team since 2003. As Director of Development, Karen manages all aspects of the Development Office, including all fundraising campaigns. Previously, Ms. Lozow ran a teacher training program for the Anti-Defamation League and was a speech pathologist in public and private schools. She is also a past president of the Junior League of Denver and a current trustee of the List Family Foundation.
Karen earned her B.S. in Communication Disorders from the University of Colorado, Boulder and her M.S. in Speech Pathology from Purdue University.
Ms. Hill joined the DA Development Team in the fall of 2018. She oversees and manages the Development database, gift processing, and provides instruction, support, and insight to other database users. Lori comes to DA with close to 25 years of experience in administration and data management in the non-profit, fundraising, and educational arenas.
Ms. Hill earned her B.A. in Cross-Cultural Communications from Seattle Pacific University with minor studies in sociology and accounting.
Heather Dodd is excited to join the Denver Academy community as a development associate. Her previous experience includes writing marketing materials and teaching primary grades in English and Spanish.
Heather brings with her a passion for helping students succeed. She earned her B.A. in bilingual education and her M.A. in literacy education. Her goal at DA is to help build The Fund and make this thriving environment accessible to more children.
Julia Teitell is excited about joining the Denver Academy community as a development associate. Julia is passionate about youth development and experiential education. Prior to joining the Development Team at Denver Academy, Julia was the assistant director of a residential summer camp outside of Idaho Springs. She also held the roles of program manager of two programs for Volunteers of America, and youth director at a synagogue in Denver.
Julia grew up in Littleton, Colo., and received her Bachelor of Arts and Science in Human Development & Family Studies and Sociology from Colorado State University. After graduating, Julia served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in central China.
Julia enjoys exploring delicious restaurants around Denver, hanging out with her friends, and walking her dog, Bueller.
