DA High School students will attend a performance of the play “Ghosted” and participate in corresponding talkbacks at DA on November 6 (Grades 9 and 10). Presented by Kaiser Permanente Colorado’s Arts Integrated Resource team, the theatrical production and corresponding workshop were created to raise awareness among high school students around suicide, anxiety, depression, and how to build social-emotional resiliency. After the play, there will be a short larger group discussion followed by smaller discussions in individual classrooms, all facilitated by the actors in partnership with DA teachers, and counselors. Topic: Continued conversation of Color Blind or Color Brave. Denver Academy's High School SOCA meetings are an inclusive group of students of color and allies. This group is student-led and open to all students. The mission of this group is to embrace unity through respect in order to create an empowered, diverse and safe community. Led by Counselor, Lynne Cole, the group will feature speakers, activities and foster safe and thoughtful dialogue.
Denver Public Health will be presenting a parent education session at DA on Monday, November 11 (rescheduled from Oct. 28) about youth vaping and tobacco use in partnership with DA's Department of Counseling & Wellness. Gala committee will be conducting a site visit at Ritz-Carlton Denver, the location of the Gala 2020 event. Meet at the hotel lobby at 11:00 AM or to carpool from DA, meet at the front office at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served.

Herd parents and teachers will be hosting a Thanksgiving Feast for Middle School students on Monday, Nov. 25 during lunch. DAPA will provide the turkey & gravy and parents are asked to bring their favorite side dishes as coordinated by the homeroom teachers.
