Student Life

Clubs & Organizations

Denver Academy students participate in numerous clubs and activities that are actively involved in improving the school and community. Students create publications, participate in activities or display their talents for the entire student body. The clubs and activities create a social environment that encourages students to reach beyond the classroom and use the skills that they are developing in class. The availability of each individual club or activity may vary slightly from year to year, depending on student interest.

High Interest Clubs at DA

Photography Club
Photography Club provides the opportunity for students to use the cameras, computers, software, and printers in the digital art room to learn and practice the art of digital photography in an independent way. Students shoot a variety of sporting and after school events, as well as go on-location and create their own photoshoots.

Theatre Club
The Theatre Club is an opportunity to learn the basics of acting, cultivate the love of building and designing, delve deeper into what it means to be an actor, and to hang out with others who also love the World of Theatre. The Theatre Club will be a great way for students to be updated on important Denver Academy Theatre dates, events and important opportunities! This is also an opportunity for those students who have been inducted into the Thespian Honor Society to be leaders and teachers, and to share their love of theater with others! Come play theatre games with us and learn more about why
theatre is such an important part of our culture!

Writing Club
The first rule of Writing Club is: you don't talk about Writing Club...you write! Writing Club is a place for both seasoned as well as budding writers. If you've ever aspired to share your thoughts, feelings, concerns ideas etc. with the rest of the world, this is the place to start. We will begin each meeting with a writing prompt and then move into independent pieces with the focus on everything from just simple share-outs in class to submissions for publication. Be it poetry or prose, fiction or nonfiction, short story or novel, there is a place for you in Writing Club.
