Support DA

Ways to Give

Annual Giving: The DA Annual Fund

What it is

Support for the school’s current year operating expenses. Annual gifts make up the difference between what tuition covers and the actual costs of operating the school. Such gifts are usually unrestricted, allowing the school to direct the funds to the greatest need.

Time Frame

July 1 to June 30 each school year.
It’s similar to: a checking account that helps the school pay its daily budgeted expenses.

What it provides

Teacher salaries and benefits, classroom resources and teaching tools, educational technology and equipment, and continuing education for staff.

Endowment Giving

What it is

Money for the school’s permanent fund that produces a relatively stable stream of income. Endowment funds are invested for the long-term benefit of the school. Such gifts can be unrestricted or restricted in accordance with the school’s gift acceptance policies. Annual distributions are made to support specific areas of the school per the donor’s gift agreement. Endowment principle is not spent, but the funds generated by endowment earnings can support school priorities year after year.

Time Frame

What it provides

Endowments frequently support tuition assistance, faculty compensation, innovative academic programs, and professional development.

Planned Giving: The DA Legacy Society

What it is

When the mission of Denver Academy aligns with a donor’s values and the donor believes that these values and DA should be preserved for the future. It is a gift of cash, equity or property which a donor decides to give at some future date, either a number of years from now or at death. The most common planned gift is a bequest in your will or living trust.

It's like

Planning now for a gift you make in the future.

Time Frame

Planned gifts can be created any time – no matter the age of the donor.

What it provides

A lasting legacy and the promise of a strong future for Denver Academy.
