  • High School Spanish Teacher

    Position: High School Spanish Teacher (Long Term Temporary Position through 2016-2017 School Year) 

    Requirements: Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and be qualified to teach high school spanish.

    Description: As a Denver Academy teacher, this position is responsible for executing Denver Academy’s mission of inspiring and empowering diverse learners through student-centered, differentiated and transformative education. This includes oversight of and responsibility for students, program, and day-to-day operations in the classroom. This position is also responsible for communicating with parents and acting as liaison with other division classrooms and the rest of the DA community.
     
    Teaching:
    • Maintains a safe and respectful learning environment
    • Responsible for developing effective and purposeful lesson plans
    • Works in partnership with Deans, Heads and Program Team for effective delivery of DA program and content
    • Differentiates lessons to meet diverse learning styles
    • Stays current with DA program
    Management:
    • Maintains effective communication with parents
    • Conferences as needed with parents during scheduled conference times
    • Maintains an electronic gradebook
    • Supervises before school, during lunch and after school
    • Responsible for testing and assessment
    • Responsible for updating student files and anecdotal records
    • Responsible for completing grades and report cards before deadlines
    Leadership:
    • Models professionalism for the classroom and the division
    • Positively represents the DA community
    • Models conflict resolution at all levels
    • Models respect and responsibility
    Additional Responsibilities (as appropriate):

  • Marketing/Public Relations Intern

    REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & PR
    DURATION: REMAINDER OF 2016-17 SCHOOL YEAR EXCLUDING HOLIDAYS 
    LOCATION: DENVER ACADEMY, 4400 E. ILIFF AVE, DENVER & POSSIBLY REMOTELY
    HOURS:  PART-TIME POSITION – 15 TO 20 HOURS PER WEEK
    PAY SCALE: $12/HOUR
     
    The position will be responsible for working with the Director of Marketing to implement effective marketing and public relations strategies to communicate and promote within the DA community, as well as with the general public on both a local and national level.
     
    JOB COMPONENTS:  The Marketing/PR Intern will have the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience with the job components listed below.
     
    • Work with Director of Marketing & PR to develop and distribute e-newsletter communications to the DA community including both weekly e-mails to Lower and Upper Schools and monthly DA Dateline issues
    • Identify social media opportunities, write and post content on social media outlets
    • Help with coordination of community collaborations and special promotions
    • Write copy and work with various departments on web updates
    • Write, record and edit blogs and videos for DA blog and website
    • Work with Director of Marketing & PR to research, write and disseminate press releases and PSAs to media contacts
    • Write and disseminate calendar listings to various media outlets
    • Help to maintain and expand press database as well as DA community database in e-mail software, Constant Contact and Push Pages
    • Collect and file press clippings
    General Additional Job Components:
    Work with Director of Marketing & PR, as well as with additional Denver Academy departments, to implement Marketing/PR strategies and reach overall marketing and public relations goals.
     
    SKILLS REQUIRED:
    • Candidate must be seeking at least a Bachelor level (master level preferred) university degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field
    • Exceptional writing skills; strong listening skills
    • Previous experience working with e-mail marketing programs such as Constant Contact or MailChimp desired
    • Previous experience working with website platforms such as WordPress desired
    • Outstanding interpersonal and oral communication skills
    • Ability to manage time, set priorities, balance demands of multiple tasks and meet deadlines
